About the Recipe

Amaranth is a complete plant based protein, full of B vitamins and served warm - we love this as a fall favourite! This means your body is getting all the essential amino acids it needs to absorb + use protein for energy throughout your day, balanced blood sugar, and muscle recovery.
Beginning your morning with a warming porridge supports your digestion, circulation and is grounding for your nervous system, who doesn’t need a little extra support for that! This can be an ideal way for seasonal breakfasts in the fall, winter, and spring transition. Using warming spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, clove, and nutmeg can help spice this up but also further supports your nervous system, digestion and circulation.

By adding a tbs of coconut oil or full fat coconut milk, will give this an extra creamy taste that will root you right down into feeling grounded. When we add protein + fat + carb this ensures we have balanced blood sugar. When our blood sugars are balanced our hormones can function properly, our digestive system and nervous system feel safe which can help attribute to anxiety, reducing energy crashes throughout the day, reduces inflammation and more!
Amaranth is technically a seed not a grain, so this is a great choice for anyone who has gluten sensitivities, requirements or is celiac!

Containing B Vitamins, Amaranth is an excellent choice to support your nervous system, energy, digesting protein, absorbing iron, brain function, hormones + cardiovascular health!
